My 2 year old is still too short to reach the pedals, even with the three adjustable seat positions, but he can scoot himself along. He loves this bike and everytime we go outside he wants to ride it. It has many different types of sounds with simple button pushes....(i.e. turning left, right, batman theme song, engine rev and much more). The stickers really add to how nice it looks but will start to come off if they get wet. He has had it for a couple of months now and it seems to be pretty durable. Of course the wheels start to wear but it's like any other wheel (bike, car, etc) that moves along the ground. The other kids in the neighborhood love it too. I would highly recommend this bike.

Smart Trike Deluxe 3 In 1 Red Black Review

Smart Trike Deluxe 3 In 1 Red Black
Average Reviews:

I really like this trike. We just bought 2 for our twins and they are wonderful. My husband and I put them together without any problems. The directions are step by step in picture format. One person posted that the directions were difficult and I would have to disagree. The steering is okay but not that bad. I can push two at the same time. Also the trike is very light weight and the saftey harness is a pluse. Also someone posted to upgrade to the zoo. We tested a trike pluse in the store and it seemed wobbley/cheap. We were going to purchase the deluxe but the store had the zoo only. I am so glad we got the zoo, it is just better quailty from the seat cushion to the tire and peddles. Overall we are happy with the purchase. Advice: purchase when kids are small because you will get a lot of use out of it. Suggestions for change: able to remove the cell phone (use of clip) - this way the phone will not drop but can be removed when parents are annoyed with it, canopy is good but would be nice if it can move side to side, bin in the back can fall off if load is too heavy or you hit it just right (connected to bike a little more securly - with a bolt or bungee of some sort)---I know you don't want the plastic to crack). These were just some suggestions and I know you can't have it all. Thanks for reading my reivew, sorry if there are spelling errors.------Cassandra (Even though I did not purchase this on amazon, I do go to amazon for reviews. I love when people post their unbiased thoughts on items because it helps me to decide if I would like the product.)

I can't believe I was going to buy the crappy plastic foldup Radio Flyer tricycle. Fortunately, I noticed before purchasing that it was for 1.5 yrs-3 yrs olds and as I was buying this for my daughter who was turning 3, I turned to Amazon to find something bigger. When I saw this, I fell in love with it and BONUS! it was on clearance for $69.99! It's even more gorgeous in person--when she took it to the local playground for its first spin, the kids there actually chased her around the park because it was so stunning! The only minor drawback is that because she's still learning the physics of pedaling, she pushes the pedals and pulls on the handlebars so hard to get leverage that the handlebars go a little crooked, even after tightening them as much as we can. But I can easily fix it by twisting them back and I figure it won't happen as much once she grows taller and gets the hang of riding it.

Radio Flyer Classic Red 10" Tricycle with Push Handle Review

Radio Flyer Classic Red 10 Tricycle with Push Handle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We boght this tricycle two weeks ago for our 18 month old son. He is definitely too little to ride it by himself and his feet can barely reach the pedals but he loves it anyway. We go for a walk every day and he enjoys being pushed around on it. He has alrady started to figure out how to steer the tricycle. I think the Radio Flyer Classic Red is a wonderful classic toy with a great educational value.
Materials are sturdy so the tricycle should last us for a long time. Assembly is very easy and only takes about 5 minutes.
The only complaint I would have is the fact that rubber tires smell horrific. We could not keep the trike in the house the first few days as the smell was disgusting and unbearable. But that sure doesn't stop it from being a great toy. THUMBS UP. Great buy!

Radio Flyer Deluxe Steer & Stroll® Trike Review

Radio Flyer Deluxe Steer and Stroll® Trike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We just got this bike earlier this week, but not only does my 20 month old son love this bike, but both of his parents do too!!! The qualities that I was looking for when I research a bike for my son were:
a push handle for mom and dad,
durable,
safe,
seatbelt, and
adjustable seat so he could grow with the bike.
This bike not only has a push handle, but one better, a steering handle. My son doesn't really know how to push the pedals yet, so he sits and holds on and mom and dad can actually push AND steer the bike - what a GREAT feature. This bike is mostly metal and I feel that it will be very durable (I can't actually tell for sure since we have only used it a week). The bike also seems safe, we haven't had any spills yet. Seat belt - this bike didn't come with a seat belt, but we really didn't need one after all, he is sitting just fine on the bike. Ajustable seat - it can be adjusted to three different positions in relation to the handle bars (note: no vertical adjustment only horizontal).
The advertisement also mentions a place for the child to put their feet. We really aren't finding the location of this feature to be useful. It is too far back on the bike for my son to feel comfortable to put his feet there. BUT when assembled correctly (I put the front pedal on backwards to begin with) the front pedals won't turn without being pushed so they are like foot rests until he gets the hang of pedaling.
Also, this bike has great colors, a little pouch to store those wonderful collectables (rocks, etc.) picked up along the way, and made by a reputable company (Radio Flyer).
Assembly was quite easy (just make sure you put the front tire on correctly - facing the right way). The hubcaps were a bit troublesome, but ok overall.
This bike had many of the same features of the more expensive [price] range bikes, but we only paid about [price] for this one.
I am highly recommending the Radio Flyer Steer and Stroll to all I know with kids this age range.

Perfect for the young trike-rider, this innovative model from Radio Flyer offers some remarkable features that both children and adults are sure to love. The removable, 4-position push handle on the steering wheel enables you to turn the front wheel while your child rides. When she's old enough to steer on her own, you can remove it. The freewheeling pedals allow your child to coast while you push, and the sturdy, tubular steel frame has flip-down foot rests. Also features 10-inch front wheel, durable molded wheels with grip tread, soft removable cargo pack, adjustable seat and ringing bell. Measures approximately 30" x 21.5" x 23".

Fisher-Price Kawasaki Tough Trike Review

Fisher-Price Kawasaki Tough Trike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My son calls this his motorcycle (well, it is a Kawasaki, right?). First off... he is very hard on toys! So far the only thing that is suffering on his bike are the stickers. He is only 35" tall and he cannot really peddle the bike just yet. He scoots and knows his feet are suppose to be on the peddles. He does get a little frustrated but I swear that if we had gotten this when he was younger (he's 2) he would have never learned to walk because he's been riding it since his first diaper change this morning.
This is just a bike and it does not make any special sounds, requires no batteries, nor is there much distraction with flashy characters and massive decoration. Putting it together requires a hammer and a screwdriver. The hammer is very important because the rear wheel assembly is very tight. It wasn't greatly difficult but you did have to make sure you followed the instructions on this one. We put it together in 10 or 15 minutes. Probably 15 since the boy was trying to help. The space under the seat is actually pretty big. He has a play phone he keeps in it plus his cheerios cup and a sippy cup can fit. So far so good... but we did just get it. If it breaks I'll update this with a time of how long it lasted.

Smart Trike Uno 3 In 1 Multi Review

Smart Trike Uno 3 In 1 Multi
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a neat toy. My 12 month old daughter LOVES it. It took about a half hour to put together. Overall, the body of this trike is made of sturdy materials so I think it would last if she could already pedal herself. And the center of the wheels is rubber which is much better than plastic on the road. HOWEVER, the yellow part of the tall blue handle is already cracking and I have only owned this two weeks. So I will be returning this item because I know I will be pushing her for at least another 6 months. This is NOT very easy to steer. You have to use two hands so I can't take the dog with us when we go for a walk which is a real bummer. Also, the turning radius is terrible. You need LOTS of room to turn around. That said, my child still loves this and the safety cage with waist belt makes her feel very secure. So, for the price point, I'd probably keep it if the handle wasn't cracking!

Proving that kids' products can be both functional and fun at the same time, the Smart Trike Uno tricycle contributes to your children's motor skills at an early age and keeps them smiling in the process. The Smart Trike Uno is sturdy and functional, with a full metal frame and an adjustable seat that guarantees a perfect fit for babies 10 months and older. The idea behind the Smart Trike Uno--the company's most basic trike--is simple: you start by pushing from behind using the adjustable parent handle. Then, when your child is ready, simply fold up the handle and let him or her pedal alone. Not only does the tricycle encourage education and independence, but it also evolves over time from a baby push trike to a traditional tricycle, so you don't have to buy a new ride after three months of use.
In addition to the sturdy frame and seat, the Smart Trike Uno includes a press-out clutch for freewheeling, allowing parents to control the ride while the child rests. Other features include nonslip pedals, double-injection rubber wheels, a foldable footrest, a seatbelt and safety bar, and a tipping bucket on the rear that holds toys and other small items. The Smart Trike Uno is recommended for ages 10 months to 36 months.

My little 13 month boy really loves this tricycle. He even makes us push him around in the house. The 3 step progression is a great idea. He gets bored with the stroller, but not this. The wrap around barrier is an added plus that I didn't see on the other tricycles. This is especially important for the younger babies. The big disappointment is how it's difficult to steer. I hope Tikes eventually fixes this. For the person pushing, it turns out to be a lot of work when you should be enjoying the walk.

Alex Ready, Set, Go Red Trike Review

Alex Ready, Set, Go Red Trike
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I assembled this trike for my nearly 5 year old daughter (who is motor delayed and only now learning to peddle a bike and steer at the same time). I can't speak to the baby settings, but at the oldest setting, this bike is awesome!
I totally thought that it this trike would be a piece of plastic garbage like so many other things out of China. I couldn't imagine how they could justify the price when Radio Flyer has nice metal construction trikes out there. Well, I'm eating my words. First of all, the bike is pretty sturdy. The wheels are wider than a lot of trikes. I've found that among a sampling of trikes, the Alex is as sturdy as a Fisher Price or Kettler (yes, this seems to run the price gamut)--and far more sturdy than a Radio Flyer.
I prefer Alex's upright seating position, however, which resembles the Kettler & Radio Flyer to Fisher-Price's slightly lower and leaned back seating. Since my daughter occasionally bikes in her skirt or dress, I get maybe another inch off the ground to keep the flying mud off. Of course, I'm still constantly tucking the skirt behind her into the seat anyways.
I was surprised that my daughter could still fit into the trike. She's by no means a small girl. Throughout her toddler years, she was at the 70-90 percentiles for height and weight. I'd say she's closer to 60-70 percentiles now, but she still can ride this trike. That tells you that it's really a good investment for potentially 5 years or more worth of use --just for one child!
The parent steering is really smooth. The mechanism to lengthen or shorten the handle is a little annoying and doesn't look too durable, but so far so good.
The assembly really sucked. Seriously. The bucket was horrible to get on and at this point, it's fallen off and we've lost it. The instructions were bad and difficult to understand. When I first assembled, one wheel just didn't seem to stay on and never made the click sound to tell me it stuck on no matter how hard I pushed. But my husband went outside and pounded on it and it finally clicked together. The wheels work fine for us outdoors though. I saw some reviews said that they didn't work well. I live in Baltimore and the sidewalks are like swiss cheese, but DD seems to manage.
Now, the best part it turns out about the bike is that b/c of its plastic construction, it doesn't rust in the rain the way the Radio Flyers and Kettlers do. I've held off on writing this review for six months now and the thing has been outside in the blaring down sun, rain, snow, ice, etc. The color has not faded at all, and the trike still pedals like new. For that reason alone, I think it gets 5 stars.
If you found this review helpful, please let me know.

This is so reasonable in price and provides so much fun for so long. We gave it to my son when he was one year. He is two and still uses it every day. He can't do the pedals yet but he goes around the block on this propelling himself with his feet. Its extremely sturdy and balanced and is not prone to tipping. In fact, he has only fallen a couple times and that was when he got on or off and just didn't swing his leg over it far enough. Yep, there are more expensive nicer looking trikes, but this is fun and relatively safe even before they can pedal. And my son still has fun to come on this one once he learns to pedal! Update: My son used this trike until he turned 6!

This sturdy trike offers three fun ways to ride. The base locks in place for ride-on, rocking fun. As your child grows, the base converts to an extra long parent handle so you can comfortably stroll behind your child, offering a helpful push while they learn to pedal. When they're ready to ride on their own, remove the handle, adjust the seat and fold the foot pegs for easy, independent pedaling.
Features:
Rock - Sturdy rocker base is great fun for little ones.
Roll - Flip base around and it becomes a handle, ready for you to guide your child along.
Ride - Remove the handle, flip up the footrest and let them take off on their own.
Measures approximately 40.5" x 19" x 32.5".

Little Tikes 3 in 1 Trike Purple Review

Little Tikes 3 in 1 Trike Purple
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My 15 month old daughter loves this trike! She cried when our walk was over because she didn't want to get off of it. I have no problem with the steering- it can swerve slightly when going straight, but not enough to matter, and it turns well. It took her dad only a half hour or so to put together. I like the adjustable height of the parent push handle, since I am short but her dad is tall. The only thing I don't like is the shoulder harness- I can't adjust it quite right, so the straps are on the outer edge of my daughter's shoulders and sometimes one slips down. But she still stays on fine, and the separate waist buckle works well.
Before buying I looked at this push trike and the different Smart Trike models. After seeing them in person, I narrowed it down to this or the Smart Trike Zoo Gala (a deluxe model)- the lower-end Smart Trikes are more flimsy plastic and seemed cheaply made; these were both sturdy. I compared features and ultimately found this Little Tikes trike to have better and safer features for the first stages. The websites don't mention them, so here is what I found.
-The Smart Trike front wheel covering is short and your child could more easily stick her foot in the spinning wheel. The Little Tikes front wheel cover extends further/decreases this possibility.
-The Smart Trike foot rest (I believe) does not fold up to get out of the way when they move to stage 3. The Little Tikes does.
-If you are on the first two stages (both with the parent pushing), but your child can reach the pedals and they try to pedal, the Smart Trike front wheel will still move. The Little Tikes trike allows you to disengage the pedals for the first two stages- when you push the trike the pedals and front wheel still move, but if your child pedals, the front wheel does not.
Also, there are 3 seat positions. For the first stage (with the bar around the waist), you must put the seat in the closest one to the pedals. My daughter is 31" and the footrest is a little behind her feet, and she sometimes lets them dangle in front of it. But she doesn't reach the pedals yet. If you would move the seat further back, though, you'd have to take off the waist bar.
We're very happy with this trike!
