OnGuard Boxer 5046 Motorscooter and Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock Review

OnGuard Boxer 5046 Motorscooter and Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is the highest rated disc lock (according to OnGuard's own rating system). If you want to save a couple of bucks, or aren't sure if your disc brake has a hole large enough to fit the 5/8" shackle then you can save $6 and get the OnGuard Boxer 5048 Motorscooter and Motorcycle Disc Brake Lock (1/2" shackle) which is just one step down in their security rating. Of course, any disc brake can't deter someone from simply picking up the bike onto dollies and rolling it into a truck - so the best bet is to chain the bike to something immovable. But if you can't do that, this lock is pretty much safe from hand bolt cutters and any direct attacks.
The lock mechanism on all the OnGuard locks are first rate (I've owned at least 4)...unlike $50 Kryptonite locks which (the older models) could be opened with bic pens.

I used to use skewers and big ole washers to keep the 12" crescent on the BB tool. It works but was a compromise. With this gadget I still use big ole washer but it is a much better fit w/o the skewer. It makes the whole process a breeze now.

Pedro's Universal Bicycle Crank Remover with Handle Review

Pedro's Universal Bicycle Crank Remover with Handle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This product works perfectly. You screw the middle-section of the tool into threads on the crank that are designed to accept this type of tool. There is a central screw that the handle and an insert are attached to; you turn the handle and this causes the screw to move laterally. The insert pushes against the bottom bracket while the middle-section pushes outward (held in by the threads) and eventually the crank comes off. This tool uses torque and a screw to increase the amount of force you can apply parallel to the bottom bracket, making it much, much easier to remove a crank, which seems to have a death-grip on the bottom bracket.
However, be sure to choose the correct size insert (it comes with a small one and a large one). The large one is pre-installed on the tool. However, if it is too big to fit through the hole in the crank (as it was for me), you will completely strip the threads out. It took over an hour to get the stripped crank off and I now have to buy a new one. It is completely my fault for not checking the fit of the insert, but perhaps Pedro's could ship the tool with the small insert pre-installed to keep users like me who are beginners from stripping the threads out. Users who needed the larger insert would probably not be at risk of stripping their threads out with the smaller one.

Pedro's Syn Lube Bicycle Chain Lubricant (4-Ounce Drip) Review

Pedro's Syn Lube Bicycle Chain Lubricant (4-Ounce Drip)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Very good product. Came in two 2 oz. bottles, not one 4-ounce bottle, but that's fine. The oil itself is high quality, thin, but not watery. After oiling the chain link by link, there was practically no wipe-up - the oil was absorbed quickly and completely into the rivets. With a weekly oiling, I expect the 4 ounces to last the better part of a year or more. Good value.

I picked up this lock to go with the 5018L (7ft) OnGuard Beast chain. It's locking mechanism works well and our bikes are still in our possession, so it's done its job. It's nice that it comes with extra keys.

OnGuard Bulldog MINI DT 5015TC Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable Review

OnGuard Bulldog MINI DT 5015TC Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
pros:
moderate weight: At about two pounds, this might be a lot heaver than your wimpy cable lock, but I think it's well worth the additional deterrence/security.
small size: Just enough to fit around your seat tube and through your rear wheel, which suffices if you subscribe to Sheldon Brown's method of bike-locking like I do (Google "sheldon brown lock strategy"). There's not much room left for prying. The included cable is just enough to get through your front wheel and frame and around whatever you're locking to. I usually can't quite manage getting around a fat telephone pole with the provided length, so another foot would be nice, but I've had no problem getting around lampposts and bike racks. If you'd like to get the U-lock (vs. just the cable) around whatever you're locking to, you should probably consider a model with a longer (and maybe wider U) shackle. You might manage to get this smaller lock around a bike rack bar and your rear wheel, but that's pretty tight.
can't be picked with a pen tube: I know from experience that the older Kryptonite locks and some other brands with round keys have this problem. OnGuard locks have a very different key design, and while I generally believe any lock can be picked, I expect OnGuard's locks to be fully pen-resistant.
keyhole cover: Another nice plus is the simple but sturdy keyhole cover that's easy to slide into place, even with gloves on.
key with light: One of the included keys has a little, amber LED in it, which is nice if you've locked your bike in a really dark location and have trouble finding the keyhole, but you really ought to avoid locking your bike anywhere that dark anyway!
scratch-safe surfaces: The only time I have to be careful about scratching my paint job is when the lock is open. The steel ends of the U shackle are (of course) uncoated, but otherwise, the shackle has a heavy rubber coating, and the crossbar has a plastic exterior that seems pretty sturdy and has held up well to over a year of usage. Nice, solid construction.
cons:
possible danger of bending/breaking key: You have to learn to be a little gentle with the lock mechanism. If you have the key all the way in, turning the key should be effortless. If you try to force it, the key feels like it could bend or snap (although I haven't done this yet). Luckily, the lock comes with several keys, in case you need to learn this lesson the hard way. Similarly, when locking, both ends of the U shackle have to be fully seated in the crossbar, or the key will not turn. Bottom line is to remember that unlocking and locking are smooth and easy if the key and shackle ends are all fully in place.
wimpy bracket tab: Although the Amazon product info doesn't suggest that this comes with a quick-release mounting bracket for frame attachment, the one I bought last year did. The plastic tab on the U shackle that slides into the mounting bracket snapped while I was riding, sending the lock into the street. I had the mount on my seat tube, and I think bumps caused the lock to bounce, stressing the tab in the bracket. The OnGuard site advertises a newer bracket whose lock attachment point might be sturdier, but if you insist on frame mounting, you might consider "hanging" the lock on the attachment point by putting the bracket on your top tube. Overall, I recommend carrying the lock in a bag, on a rack, or in a large pocket. (You could also stick it in the back of your pants, which I see some hip fixie riders doing around here, but I can't imagine that's very comfortable.) This was a minor concern to me, since I cycle-commute and almost always have a pannier.
Overall, I'm happy with this lock for medium security (i.e., not NYC) applications, and if used properly, you can generally ensure your bike looks a lot harder to steal than the others on your neighborhood rack. Consider adding a shorter, lighter cable to thread through your saddle rails, if you've got a pricey saddle.

My husband loves this apron. He is a serious woodworker. He loves the length of this apron(He is 6'3.) He loves the snap clips meaning he set the length around his neck and waist once and now just clips the apron on and it fits perfectly. He said the pockets are perfect for pencils, knives, etc. He highly recommends it!

M-Wave Unicycle (20-Inch Wheel) Review

M-Wave Unicycle (20-Inch Wheel)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a fantastic and extremely durable unicycle. This was my first unicycle and I have really thrashed this thing for the past eight months or so and it has stood up very well. The only thing that has broken are the plastic pedals, they take a beating as you learn to ride, but an upgrade to metal pedals is fairly inexpensive and pretty necessary for most any unicycle. I have since acquired a 36 inch Coker for commuting and having ridden that I realized that the saddle on this unicycle can be a bit uncomfortable after a few hours riding, but still it is a great unicycle to start out on.

Pedro's Folding Hex Bicycle Wrench Set with Screwdrivers Review

Pedro's Folding Hex Bicycle Wrench Set with Screwdrivers
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm a bit of an on the spot handy man at times and this is a great little tool to carry around for either quick adjustments on my bike or fixes around the house or at the restaurant. My friends who ride their bicycles really admired it and its price when I told them about it. It is small and very portable but unfortunately this also makes it difficult to use when you need that extra length to get a screw head at an odd angle. But nothing in life is perfect and this thing isn't magic . . . it is just very convenient.

OnGuard PitBull MINI DT 5008 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable Review

OnGuard PitBull MINI DT 5008 Bicycle U-Lock and Extra Security Cable
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This lock will definitely keep your bike safe. Don't be fooled by the name "Mini DT" because this thing is solid. To give you an idea, I weighed components:
U-lock - 2 lbs 5 oz.
Cable - 11 oz.
Combined - 3 lbs.
Dimensions of the U-lock:
Width - 6 in.
Height - 7.8 in.
Diameter of thickest part - 1.75 in.
Length of cable - 46 in.
The frame mount is pretty good (easy to install, you'll need a hex wrench though) and it comes with 5 keys (seems like overkill, but whatever.)
For the price and the free shipping, its a no brainer.
Get it and be done with it.

OnGuard Brute STD 5001 Bike U-Lock Review

OnGuard Brute STD 5001 Bike U-Lock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It's a super sturdy lock that someone would have to be crazy to attempt to defeat. I don't give it five stars because The short length of the shaft sometimes makes it a pain to attach it to bike racks, but with enough creativity, I've never had to leave my bike unlocked. OnGuard does offer the Brute in a Long Shaft version (LS 5000), but for some reason the updated version doesn't include a theft guarantee for bicycles, only motor vehicles. The picture Amazon shows is for last year's model, so maybe you can still get a long shaft with the guarantee. If not, go for the standard length, it's a "don't mess with me" lock.

OnGuard Akita 5044 Bicycle Security Cable (Lock Not Included) Review

OnGuard Akita 5044 Bicycle Security Cable (Lock Not Included)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
First of all, the thing to understand about this cable is how it is intended to be used. You can use it as a low-security bike lock with a padlock of your choice. Onguard's web site rates the security of their products and the rating on this one indicates the amount of security it provides. You can also use it in tandem with a u-lock to secure your front wheel to the u-lock and the rest of your bike. In this situation the security provided should be quite good.
Secondly, the quality of this cable is outstanding for what it is. All of the pieces fit together very nicely and the materials used are excellent. This is a far nicer choice than many others out there.
So if you are looking for a decent lock in low-crime areas or if you want something to use with your more protective u-lock this is a great choice. On the other hand, if you think you can use this and some padlock you've got lying around then you are going to be disappointed.

OnGuard Terrier Combo 4 5061 Combination Cable Lock Review

OnGuard Terrier Combo 4 5061 Combination Cable Lock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The lock is exactly as the product description states. Therefore, I am giving it 5 stars because the product is exactly what it claims to be (the create your own combination is especially nice).
However, after getting this lock, I feel most people would be much better off with something different. I use the lock for securing my bike. I wanted something that was small and light, but didn't realize just how small this product really is. The cable is pretty short, just barely long enough to secure the frame and both wheels, so usually I have to leave one wheel unsecured if locking the bike to something. Also, the cable is very thin and just looks like it could easily be cut with a good wire cutter. Fortunately, I live in a small suburb where most people don't even bother locking up their bikes, so this is a nice small/light solution. However, when I commute to work I still bring the 12mm cable and U-Lock because I don't trust this little thing in a city like Milwaukee.
