(More customer reviews)I have two of these locks to secure motorcycles and it's definitely a visually satisfying deterrent as well as providing peace of mind to the owner that their bike is much safer than it would be if it weren't locked up. A worthy investment to make to secure your bike. This is very easy to justify after having a bike stolen from my own driveway - $70 for a quality lock is a much better choice than paying an insurance theft deductible and having your beloved bike gone forever.
The construction of the lock is solid, the mechanism is ok with occasional stickiness but nothing some WD40 can't fix. It is HEAVY so I would not recommend this to take around with you but more to leave in a fixed position at home. The lock comes with 5 keys, which seems vastly unnecessary however I am not complaining as it does not look like the type of lock you'd want to cut off should you lose all of your spares. The lighted key broke after a few months - it was not built to be particularly rugged, but thankfully I had 4 non lighted keys to replace it.
Older versions of this lock had a sliding plastic tab to cover the lock hole from the elements - the newer ones do not have this. I can't comment how the newer version will hold up to weathering but the older version has been in use for 3 years now without real issue.
