(More customer reviews)This big wheel is tiny! It looks like a regular big wheel that shrunk in the wash, which is exactly what I wanted. I find trikes to be overrated- little kids find it comforting to be low to the ground, and as a parent, I like that too. This is the only big wheel option I could find designed for the toddler. My almost two-year-old daughter adores it. She is on the small side (about 31 inches tall), and her feet reach the pedals but her leg is fully extended at the furthest point. In the two days since she received the toy, she hasn't "gotten" the pedal thing but she loves to sit on it and push with her legs. Once she figures out she can pedal, watch out!
Assembly was a little bit stressful. When it says "requires assembly", it means that you get every single tiny little part in the box and you have to put the entire thing together. Overall, the assembly is not difficult to do, but the directions are terrible. The illustrations are too small and a little bit fuzzy, so it took some careful study for us to figure it out. Take your time, and save the wine until after it is together! That is the reason it only gets a 4 star from me. Do an internet search for "my first big wheel" and you will find other manufacturers that sell it pre-assembled, for a price. Might be worth it if you don't like to put things together.
Someone else mentioned the clicking noise. The clicker is optional- you need to install the clicker so that the wheels are properly spaced, but you can break off the prongs that actually make the clicking. We like the clicking so there will be no stealth big wheeling in the house, but I can see how you might also find it annoying.
Overall, I think this is the perfect toy for my daughter and see hours of happy riding with it!
